The CEMS Alumni of the Year is a joint campaign by the CEMS Alumni Association (CAA) with the CEMS Student Board. This is a great opportunity for the CEMS community to learn about the achievements of the CEMS alumni on a monthly basic. The winner of Alumni of the Year is announced during the CEMS Annual Events every year.

Claudia Belli

Claudia Belli

Head of Social Enterprise and Microfinance @BNP Paribas

Claudia is a 1991 CEMS graduate from Bocconi and HEC Paris.

Claudia has always had one drive: being useful. Useful to people society or environment.

She has a deep concern on the final impact of each action undertaken. On this basis she worked in export finance since this drive helped her to seek for deals with a higher sustainability, though the environmental consciousness was not as deep as today.

Three years ago she became the Head of Social Enterprise and Microfinance at BNP Paribas. Supporting Social Enterprises and Microfinance institutions in 16 countries around the world is part of the commitments of BNP Paribas as a responsible bank engaged for a better future.

Creating social and environmental impact is the driving force in this job which is fully supported by Exco members. Since there is the willingness to extend it to most of the business lines of the bank, the means exist to deploy it. Developing - together with engaged teams in the Domestic Retail Networks, Asset Management, CIB - a full strategy dedicated to the maximisation of social and environmental impact is a fantastic challenge and being able to deploy it at large scale is her great chance.
